How do I find the full text of an article?
Answer
To access the full text of an article:
- Start at the Maguire Medical Library website.
- Search for your article in the PubMed, Fetch Full Text, Google Scholar, or OneSearch tabs.
- Use the PMID or DOI of an article in Fetch Full Text for quickest access
- After locating your article (abstract or database record), click on the button or full text link.
- You may be asked to authenticate yourself as an FSU affiliate using your FSUID
- If the article is not available through FSU Libraries, you will be referred to Interlibrary Loan (ILL)
Please note additional information for PubMed, Embase and Google Scholar:
- PubMed
- Often has publisher and PMC links in addition to the Find it@FSU button:
- Publisher links work from off campus if the content is open access, otherwise from on campus only
- PMC links work from both on and off campus
- Embase
- Can access full text from either View Full Text or the Find it@FSU button
- View Full Text accesses the publisher site
- For either on or off-campus access, click on Find it@FSU
- You may be asked to authenticate yourself as an FSU affiliate using your FSUID
- If the article is not available through FSU Libraries, you will be referred to Interlibrary Loan (ILL)
- Google Scholar Find it@FSU
- On campus, Find it@FSU links should appear automatically
- Off campus, the Find it@FSU button needs to be set up: More information: How do I set up Google Scholar to get full-text articles?
