Q. What's the difference between my College of Medicine username/password and my FSUID/password?

  • Your FSUID is used to access secure university-wide sites such as online course sites (Blackboard/Canvas), OMNI and off-campus FSU library resources.
  • Your College of Medicine username is used to access COM-specific sites like MEDNet Intranet (previously called SharePoint) and E*Value.
  • For students, your COM login and FSUID are often the same; for example: jas16a (but your password may not be the same!)
  • For faculty, staff, residents, and other COM affiliates, there are two different formats; for example:
    • FSUID username: jsmith
    • COM username: jane.smith

FSUID for Off-Campus Access

As of September 1, 2016, FSU University Libraries requires the FSUID to log into library resources from off campus.

What does this mean? Off-campus users sign on with their FSUID credentials. Examples of the FSUID are jas16a or jsmith.
